A new architecture for sensing
EZMEMS rebuilt sensing technology from the material level up. Instead of adapting traditional silicon MEMS sensors, the company developed a polymer-based multisensing platform capable of integrating multiple sensing modalities into a single device.
The core insight
To make sensors for the physical AI era, we need a different approach – and a different material
Silicon makes it difficult and costly to integrate multiple sensing types into a single device. Every parameter demands its own chip, its own packaging, its own integration. It is the wrong material for multisensing.
The human body solves this differently. When you taste something, one integrated system simultaneously senses temperature, acidity, and chemistry — at the point of contact. That is the model EZMEMS is built on. Polymer composites, not silicon.
THE PLATFORM
Four layers. One device.
Sensing
Simultaneously captures pressure, temperature, flow, pH, conductivity, turbidity, and more—up to 14 parameters at once.
Data
Multiple data transmission protocols (wired or wireless) to monitoring systems and analytics platforms.
Integration
Pre-calibrated sensors designed for simple installation and usage.
SUSTAINABILITY
Built to sense more.
Designed to consume less.
Silicon chip manufacturing is one of the most resource-intensive processes in modern industry – a single gram of silicon chip can require up to 800 grams of fossil fuels and 16,000 grams of water to produce, at facilities that are among the largest industrial consumers of energy and chemicals on the planet.
EZMEMS takes a different approach entirely. Our polymer-based manufacturing process requires significantly less energy, water, and raw material inputs than conventional silicon MEMS – reducing the environmental footprint before the chip ever reaches a customer. And the impact doesn’t stop at the factory gate: by replacing multiple single-parameter sensors with one integrated device, and by enabling real-time process visibility that reduces waste, downtime, and overconsumption, EZMEMS helps the industries it serves operate more efficiently too. Better sensing is, by nature, a more sustainable technology.
